SACRAMENTS
The seven sacraments are the life of the Catholic Church. Each sacrament is an outward and visible sign of an inward and invisible grace, instituted by Christ for our sanctification. Grace is favor, the free and undeserved help that God gives us to respond to his call to become children of God, adoptive sons, partakers of the divine nature and of eternal life. (Catechism of the Catholic Church [CCC] 1996)
